1) Who are the true Christians?
John 1:12,
Those who confess and believe that Jesus is Lord, and receive Him in their hearts.

2) Has the Christian any duty or obligations to meet?
1 Timothy 6:12
When Christians accept Christ, they have the capacity to grow spiritually and in knowledge of His love, obey God and His commandments; and trusting in His care through every trial and perplexity with an ever thankful heart.

3) Who is the enemy that we must meet?
James 4:7
To resist the devil, who is the one who opposed God.

4) What weapons do we use in this warfare?
Ephesians 6:13-17; 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5

Every day we should kit out in the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fastened in readiness which comes from the Gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation and armed with the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit.
We don’t fight evil with mortal weapons, but with faith in God who has already won the victory over sin.

5) What is it that the devil is always trying to get us to do?
Ephesians 2:2; Romans 5:19
The devil is succeeding when we disobey God. A disobedient spirit is of Satan, and since the first sin, he continues to tempt us to disobey.

6) Does God expect His children to obey Him?
Isaiah 1:19; Hebrews 5:9
God loves His children and desires all of us to obey Him, so that He can care for us.
Genesis 2:17 – Disobedience means death
Exodus 19:5, 6 – Obedience is the mark of the chosen ones
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 – Obey offers blessings, and disobedience offers curse
Deuteronomy 30:19, 20 – There is only life or death, and obedience or disobedience
1 Samuel 15:22 – Obedience, highest form of worship
Jeremiah 26:13 – Ways should be changed to obey
Ecclesiastes 12:13 – Obedience is the whole duty of man

Acts 5:32 – The Holy Spirit is given to the obedient
Romans 15:18 – Gentiles become Christians by obeying in word and deed
Romans 6:17, 18 – Obedience to God frees us from sin
Revelation 22:14 – The blessing

7) How do we reveal our attitude toward God?
Romans 6:16
Our obedience is demonstrated in the way we live. If we serve God, it is evident by the way we obey Him. If however we disobey God, it shows that we serve Satan – that is who we obey if we don’t obey God.

8) Does obedience include acceptance of “new truth” which may come to us?

“As Christians we should be noted for our keen desire to avail ourselves of all new truth which is worthy of the name” — P. W. Thompson, M. A.

9) What enables us to obey?
Philippians 2:12, 13
When we accept God and He lives through us, His power working through us gives us the strength to obey.
