The Judgement is Good for 7 Reasons

Good news

The “Good News” about the judgement is embodied in seven great Bible facts, which every Christian should know:

1 – IT CONCERNS EACH OF US PERSONALLY

Our personal summons to the Judgement was delivered more than 2,000 years ago. It is found in 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the Judgement seat of Christ.” It was clearly repeated again to everyone in Romans 14:12, “So then, everyone of us shall give account of himself to God.”

If we received a summon to an earthly court, what preparations would you make? Would we not want to know all we could about what would happen, and how to prepare? Would we not make an appointment with our lawyer and mediator? Would it not be in the centre of our minds day and night?

2 – IT IS AS CERTAIN AS TOMORROW’S SUNRISE

Romans 2:3 – “Do you think this, O man, that you will escape the judgement of God?
Acts 17:31 – “God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world.”
Hebrews 9:27 – “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment.”

Our appointment for judgement is one we fill personally, without deferral, deputising, evasion, bribes or escape clause – not even death!

3 – ITS STANDARD IS THE LAW OF GOD

James 2:12 – “Judged by the law of liberty.”
The Divine Law is not something that exists apart from God Himself, rather it is His essential personality.
John 12:46-48 – “Judged by the words of Jesus.”
The words of Jesus are the translation of the thoughts and intentions of God.
The life of Jesus translates the character of God into flesh and blood.
Psalms 96:13 – “He will judge the world in righteousness and truth”

4 – IT WILL TAKE IN EVERY SECRET THING

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – “God will bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing.”
Romans 2:16 – “God will judge the secrets of men.”
Matthew 12:36-37 – “Every idle word.”
And this is all done by the Heavenly Books – The Book of Life (Revelation 20:12), The Book of Remembrance (Malachi 3:16) and The record of Sins (Isaiah 65:6,7)??

5 – ITS OPENING SESSION HAS ALREADY BEGUN

Previous studies have highlighted three main division, or sessions of the latter-day judgement.

The Pre-Advent Judgement which begins some time before Jesus returns
The Millenial Judgement which is during the thousand years after Jesus returns
The Executive Judgement taking place at the end of the thousand years

6 – ITS DECISIONS WILL SATISFY THE MOST EXACTING CRITIC

Genesis 18:25 – “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
Deuteronomy 32:4 – “A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.”
Psalms 96:13 – “He will judge the world in righteousness and truth”
Revelation 11:16-18 – “The loyal universe will exclaim with deep satisfaction, “Thank God!”
Jude 14, 15 – Even the ungodly will be “convinced” of the justice of God’s verdict against them!

This final judgement is the last completing piece forming the final vindication of right. There will be not one wrong left unrighted. Not one question in the controversy between God and Satan will be left unanswered.

7 – IT HAS NO TERRORS FOR THOSE WHO TAKE CHRIST AS THEIR ADVOCATE

1 John 2:1 – “We have an Advocate (Supporter) with the Father.”
1 Timothy 5:24 – We may send our sins “beforehand to judgement.”
Revelation 3:5 – He will confess our names before the Father.
